EXPLORING CAPITOL HILL: A Kid's Guide

In March 2001 the Society published its Capitol guidebook for young Americans, Exploring Capitol Hill: A Kid's Guide to the U.S. Capitol and Congress. Project development, printing, and a distribution to each Congressional office was supported by the Verizon Foundation.

Presented in a coloring-book format and illustrated by Barbara Gibson, Exploring Capitol Hill is written for children ages 6 to 10. It includes a teacher/parent-guided tour of the Capitol and a basic introduction to Congress. Activities include a word search, maze, and a crossword puzzle.

The coloring book format complements the Society's A Young Person's Guide to the U.S. Capitol published in 2000. Exploring Capitol Hill is available for purchase through our USCHS online gift shop, or by calling us at 1-800-887-9318. It costs $1.95. Discounts are available on large quantities. Included below are some sample pages from the publication.
