The United States Capitol Historical Society, founded in 1962 and operating under a Congressional charter, is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to furthering the history of the Capitol and Congress. Its activities are financed through memberships, grants and product sales. Proceeds support the donation of art and artifacts to the Capitol’s collections, scholarly research, educational seminars, school programs and publications.
