Capitol Grounds Landscape Tour

Ted Bechtol, Superintendent of the Capitol Grounds will discuss Frederick Law Olmsted’s perfect design solution in the create of the Capitol grounds, meant “to aid and heighten” the beauty of the building; and will also discuss the Dome Renovation project currently underway by the Architect of the Capitol.

Spies Tour of Capitol Hill with Carol Bessette

Retired intelligence officer and resident Spymaster shows how ordinary neighborhoods and objects on Capitol Hill become the backgrounds and instruments of the spy world.

Congressional Cemetery Tour

Founded in 1807, this historic burial ground in the new federal city is a resting place for many involved in the creation of the Capitol as well as for Members of Congress and government officials. Learn more about the “residents” of the cemetery and ongoing preservation efforts.

Library of Congress Tour with Chris Keunen and Barry Bougton

Longtime Library of Congress docent Chris Keunen will discuss the history of the Library of Congress, its art and architecture, and the function of the library today.
