Ted Bechtol, Superintendent of the Capitol Grounds will discuss Frederick Law Olmsted’s perfect design solution in the create of the Capitol grounds, meant “to aid and heighten” the beauty of the building; and will also discuss the Dome Renovation project currently underway by the Architect of the Capitol.

Founded in 1807, this historic burial ground in the new federal city is a resting place for many involved in the creation of the Capitol as well as for Members of Congress and government officials. Learn more about the “residents” of the cemetery and ongoing preservation efforts.
