The Primary Mission of the United States Capitol Historical Society is two-fold:
Since the Society was founded in 1962, and chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1978, it has strived to shine a light for all to see on this building and what it stands for.
The U.S. Capitol Historical Society is proud to partner with the organizations and companies that bring visitors to the Nation’s Capital, and provide the tours and programs that educate and accommodate visitors while they are in the Washington area. Several of these organizations and companies have asked to affiliate with USCHS through recognition as a Tourism Industry member.
Part of the USCHS mission is to assist any organization that needs help in bringing visitors to the Capitol, or wants to provide a program or experience related to the history of the Capitol and the Congress. The members recognized as Tourism Industry Members in return are proud to provide extra support for the programs and activities of the U.S. Capitol Historical Society.
